It was my birthday a mere two weeks after the move to Virginia. Things have been really stressful lately, though I blame my lack of a job for that. I need to be working, to be able to pitch in with the bills and get crafting supplies and have some semblance of a reason to be here, part of the community. Boredom, lonliness, homesickness and guilt have been running more rampant than they should be. Aside from my boyfriend, I have no friends here. If it weren't for Matt being so sweet and trying to help me out so much, I might already have just gone back home, defeated. I really do need a job, tho. Where we live and being restricted to bicycle travel is definitely hampering the process.
Despite the stress and few arguments we've had, tho, my birthday was one of the days here that have stood out as extra awesome.
for Matt's birthday, I made him a portal cake.
It was a little lopsided....
But I still got kisses.
We went to Subway. Matt got his usual. Turkey and provolone on Italian herbs and cheese with mayo, Parmesan, salt, pepper and oregano.
then he made a big mess.
A week later, it's my birthday. I think he spoiled me too much.
He also gave me a can of peaches and The Book of Erotic Fantasy (bringing sex and pregnancy and hookers in to DnD!)
We went out to eat at the Strawberry Street cafe. It was so delicious I didn't think to take pictures until we had already eaten most of our food. And the strawberry shortcake we had for dessert? OMGHEAVEN
I'm starting to learn my way around, and there are more good days than bad ones here. Our roomies got Disgaia 3 the day it came out so the apartment is filled with the sounds of that, as they do major level grinding. I've started a game on Disgaia 1. I'm still going strong on the Halloween swap...I just really wish I had a job.
I'm going to go ahead and end this entry here. Matt feels like crap because of his med combo.....oh yeah. I've already gotten to rush him to the E.R....but that's not a story for this entry. You guys after all just got to look at delicious food.
